What is Estate Jewellery?

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever: it's loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness."

John Keates (1795-1821)

A pre owned piece of Jewellery will bring with it an elegance and a history that only time can provide.

Let us explain:

Second Hand Jewellery - A piece that has previously been purchased by a customer

Estate Jewellery - A piece that has previously been purchased and worn by a customer or a collector

Vintage Jewellery - An estate piece over the age of 20 years

Antique Jewellery - A vintage piece over the age of 100 years

6 Reasons To Buy:

· Most second hand Jewellery tends to have much finer craftsmanship and are hand made

· Second hand Jewellery is more environmentally conscientious

· Is a more affordable price option

· The piece has a history, especially if vintage and rare

· The patina will be developed

· To have a unique piece that no one else owns

The beauty, history and elegance remains with a piece of Jewellery and continuously grows with each and every adventure. A beautiful piece of Jewellery will remain that way in spite of the passing of time and hold its original magic.

Jewellery is considered "Estate" if the piece in question has had a previous owner. Another common misconception is that age has nothing to do with whether or not a piece is Estate it simply means it has been previously owned. However, contrary to common belief the vitality of the previous owner has nothing to do with a piece of Jewellery's status as estate Jewellery.

How we acquire our Estate Jewellery - as proper working Jewellers it is quite common for our customers to trade in, remodel or simply sell their Jewellery they don't use anymore. If this is something that you have been thinking about, please bring your Jewellery in to discuss your options whether it is to create a dream ring or reuse a gemstone from a family piece that is no longer wearable or "not your style", we will offer you our honest advice or simply sell your gold coins or Jewellery whether it be broken or not we take it all and give you a great price.
